Vancouver Canucks virittelee nimekästä kaappausta toimistopuolelleen.

TSN:n sisäpiiritoimittaja Darren Dreger raportoi torstaina, että Canucks on tekemässä sopimuksen legendaarisen seurapomon Jim Rutherfordin kanssa.

Dregerin mukaan Rutherford ottaa Canucksissa seurapresidentin ja väliaikaisen GM:n roolin. Canucks jatkaa uuden GM:n etsintöjä Rutherfordin johdolla.

72-vuotias Rutherford on tehnyt NHL:ssä mittavan uran Hartford Whalersin, Carolina Hurricanesin sekä Pittsburgh Penguinsin toimistopuolella. Hall of Fameen valittu seurapomo on voittanut Stanley Cupin kolmesti.
